Earlier in the week we looked at a small, relatively simple accessory. Today, let's look at something a bit more complex
For those of us who live in New York (or any metropolitan area where traffic is insane), a bike is the only sane form of transportation.
Bike theft has got to rank up there with our biggest concerns as commuters.
As a result, the guys from Velasso designed something amazing to solve those concerns.
How is LINKA unique? They discovered that 85% of bikes that are stolen are ridden away inconspicuously. By focusing mainly on immobilizing the wheel and locking it to the frame, one can seriously reduce the risk of a bike getting stolen, as it become a lot more suspicious to carry an alarming bike!
At it’s core, LINKA is a powerful bike lock mounted to your frame, so it’s always ready. To lock it, simply tap the button and you’ll be recognized securely through your phone. A 9mm hardened square steel ring automatically slides into place making your bike impossible to ride away.
As of writing the LINKA has 24 days left to go to achieve funding, and they’ve almost doubled their goal, with $40,528 out of their initial $25,000 goal raised!
Pre-orders start at pledges of $99 or more.
Estimated delivery date: December 2015
